Chervil 600-800 Seeds (Anthriscus cerefolium) Herb Heirloom

Annual, herbal plant closely resembling parsley, growing 30-60cm (11.8-23.6in) tall. Chervil blooms in small white flowers that form umbels, May through July. The leaves have a mild and warm anise-like, peppery flavour and go very well with meat dishes, soups, sauces, desserts. Plant has medicinal and culinary purposes. In French cuisine, it is one of the four popular herbs, along with chives, tarragon and parsley. It also makes an excellent companion plant with carrots, radishes, dill and cilantro, making them an ideal grouping for containers. Protects lettuces from aphids and other insects when companion planted. Makes a perfect container plant. Cool season annual.

Growing: Not suitable for tropical climate.

Planting season: either early spring, direct seeding, 2 weeks prior the last frost or fall.

Soil: fertile, well drained soil, preferably rich in organic matter, with a pH 5.5-7.

Sowing depth: 1/2-1in (1.2-2.5cm) deep, barely covering, as they need light to germinate.

Light: full sun/partial shade.

Watering: regular, to keep the soil evenly moist.

Fertilizing: optional.

Seeds germinate within 7-14 days.
