Marigolds

Planting season: year round in tropical climates; In temperate climates plant 6-8 weeks prior to the last frost indoors and transfer outdoors after the danger of the last frost is gone.
Soil: light, fertile, well-draining. Sow seed on the surface of the compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of dry vermiculite or finely sieved compost. Germination takes about 7-21 days. Don’t exclude light as this helps germination (simply do not cover with extra layer of soil when sowing the seeds. Just lightly press them in the soil). When the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them individually into 7.5cm pots or multi-cell trays.
Sowing depth: 0.6cm deep.
Spacing: 20X20cm apart.
Light: full sun (marigolds require at least 6h of sun for the best performance). Watering: regular to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Best to water when soil starts to get dry to the touch.
Fertilizing: Feed and water marigold plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Regular deadheading of marigold flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer. We highly recommend using TSM Organic Growth Activator to speed up the germination process, support healthy & robust growth, and promote abundant and deep flowering).
Pests & diseases: fungal diseases and the ones affecting leaves, stems and roots. Also, blights, rots, mildew. Pests include snails, slugs, whiteflies, spider mites, aphids. We highly advise using TSM Organic Neem Oil for natural overall protection and treatment of various pests & diseases.
Companion plants: cucumbers, melons, tomatoes, pumpkins, lettuce, lavender, basil, kales, peppers.
