Pumpkin 'Naples Long' 4-12 Seeds (Cucurbita moschata) Vegetable Heirloom

Pear shaped, beautiful musk type pumpkin with deep green, stripy skin and vivid orange colour flesh. Smooth flesh is juicy, rich, especially sweet flavoured with a delightful nutty notes. Best used fresh, cooked, baked, in stews etc. Suitable for storage. Weighs 10kg (22lb). Beautiful addition to the garden and table. Harvest in 125 days after planting the seedlings.

Growing: Planting Season: Year round in tropical climate; In temperate climates - Spring, indoors 2-4 weeks prior the danger of last frost is gone using the peat pots or direct seeding (recommended) when soil temp reaches 70F (+21C) or higher. Optimum soil temp is 95F (+35C). Pumpkins are very sensitive to cold.

Soil: any type of soil, preferred rich in organic matter, well drained and not too soggy. 

Sowing depth: 1.5in (4cm); 

Spacing: 4-8ft (1-2m) apart. 

Light: full sun. 

Watering: frequent, deep watering. Keep the foliage and fruit dry when watering to avoid rotting. 

Fertilizing: pumpkins are heavy feeders, regular treatments of manure or compost mixed with water will sustain good growth. Fertilize on a regular basis. Use a high nitrogen formula in early plant growth. Switch over to a fertilizer high in phosphorus just before the blooming period.
