Thai Lemongrass 380-440 Seeds (Cymbopogon flexuosus) Herb Heirloom

Perennial oriental culinary herb rich in essential lemon oil, possesing wonderful lemony flavour and scent. The plant has long, slender grayish-green leaves and fibrous base. It's fast and easy growing herb, which is great for container growing, as well as in herb and flower gardens. Due to its powerful fragrant essential oil, it works as a natural repellent for pests. Lemongrass is used to flavour a wide variety of dishes and drinks, teas, as it adds a very refreshing and fragrant touch to it. Also, it's used to keep away the parasites, mosquitos, ants and others, as they naturally do not like the smell of lemongrass. Once planted, re-grows every year. Contains strong health benefiting properties. Suitable for fresh usage, drying, freezing.

Planting season: year round in tropical climate; in temperate climates begin them inside up to three weeks before the last frost date. If planting inside, plant the lemongrass in seedling trays that can be covered so the seeds have a warm, moist environment to germinate. Once the seedlings appear, remove the plastic covering and transplant them outdoors to a location in full sun.
Soil: well-drained, fertile, rich in nitrogen.
Sowing depth: 0.6cm deep. Sprinkle a light layer over the seeds, as they need plenty of light to be able to germinate. Seedlings can take up to three weeks to emerge, and you’ll need to keep the soil moist during this period.
Spacing: 15cm apart. Once seedlings are 5-7cm tall, thin individual plants 60cm apart (if grown directly in the ground). If growing in pots, keep one plant per pot.  Pot should be at least 30cm wide and deep. You can transplant the seedlings you remove to another location if you wish.
Light: full sun/partial shade. Choose a sunny, bright location with plenty of sunlight.
Watering: keep evenly moist but not wet. Best to add water when soil feels dry to the touch.
Fertilizing: we recommend using TSM Organic Growth activator to speed up the germination of the seeds, support healthy growth and promote abundant yields.
Pests & diseases: This crop is one of the easiest to grow in terms of pest and disease pressure. Pests rarely attack it as it contains citronella, a natural pest-repelling compound. The only real disease threat to these plants is a fungus called lemongrass rust. Symptoms include brown, red, and yellow streaks on the leaves and this usually occurs in excessively damp, moist conditions. We highly advise using TSM Organic Neem Oil for a natural overall protection and treatment of various pests and diseases.
Companion plants: basil, thyme, marigolds, cilantro, mint.

The TSM Guarantee: It's our promise to ensure that all our products are strictly Non-GMO, and free from any possible harmful chemical compounds. All come from trusted and carefully selected small non commercial farmers worldwide providing fresh, safe supply.
